Happy Mother's Day...a bit early

It's been a super busy few weeks.  It's hard to believe that May is here!

I've made lots of Mother's Day cards, as well as some Father's Day and Graduation cards but one of my favorite ones, isn't any of those, all though it would work for a Mother's or Father's Day card.  In the last post, I posted a picture of a card that was inspired by a Bruno Mars song.  Well, after I made it, I decided that I needed to make another card that has another line from the song.  So here it is:

Here's the inside:

It really is a great "line" and could be used for any number of things.  Hmmm...who knows, maybe I'll be using it for my mom.

Happy Mother's Day just a bit early!

You Can Count On Me....

Lately one of my daughters has been obsessed with a Bruno Mars song. She plays it over and over and over.  I can't say that it bothers me, like some of the songs that get played, actually I really like this song and it's very catchy.  So, the other day I decided that I needed to make a card that uses one of my favorite phrases from that song:
And of course, the inside finishes the phrase:

So, I've come to the conclusion that maybe some of the songs my girls listen to aren't so bad! Who knows, maybe I'll be inspired to make another card after hearing one of their songs for the millionth time.

Yep, Life is good!

Is it Spring yet?

Around here, we've had more than our share of rain lately.  We're talking alot. One day it rained so hard and the wind chimed in and anything that wasn't bolted to the ground went flying away.  Even if it was "planted" well, it ended up falling over.  Don't get me wrong, as long as I don't have to go out in the mini monsoon, I love it.  Once you put me out in the middle of it....I don't like it so much.

The good news is, with all the rain, and me not wanting to go out in it, I've been able to make some really cute cards to give me just a bit of spring fever.

This one I made for a friend of mine who just got married.  It's not even close to what I had decided I was going to do, but I think it turned out even better than I planned.  I really like it. A lot.
This is a good card to make again but just change the colors to match the wedding colors. I think I just made my life a whole lot easier!

In honor of no rain this past weekend, I made this card of fresh picked flowers--well maybe I should clarify and say fresh-picked paper flowers.  Paper flowers are the best kind, they don't die.  This card also makes a nice little accent piece, since it sits up in it's little pocket:
Did you notice my Noah's Ark basket in the background? These pocket cards are so fun to make, and did I mention super easy?  You can change the theme of the pocket to whatever suits your fancy.  Wouldn't easter eggs look cute in there?  I think I now what my next card will be!

So, here's looking forward to Spring and lots of fun new spring cards to brighten someone's day!

Life is too short to match socks!

Yah, I know it's been a long time since I last updated this blog.  Where in the world does the time go?  As I get older I realize time just keeps going by faster and faster!

For the new year I decided, among other things, that my word for the year was going to be CALM.  This can mean different things to different people, but to me it meant just that.  Be calm.  The other thing I realized is that  I need to RELAX more often.  I mean really relax.  When I saw this stamps set by Unity, I knew I had to get it just so I could make a card with that sentiment.

Sometimes I get so involved in getting things done and then going on to my next task or project that I don't enjoy the moment.  I miss out on  just being there to see what's going on.  Most of the time my list can wait and enjoying my family, or listening to some good music, or watching that one movie I've wanted to watch for a year, or whatever the case may be, is how I want to spend my time.  This is not an easy thing for me, but I'm getting the hang of it and you know what?  I really like it.

Life is definitely too short to match socks!
